The bar is heated up to the forging temperature. Ball-type blanks are made by helical rolling. The diameter of the resulting blanks at the forging temperature is larger than the cross size of the die by a value of blank metal thermal expansion. After the hollow part is forged it is cooled. The cooling begins at the temperature of recrystallization at a rate of 50. . . 100 C/hour. EFFECT: improved quality.
