FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: monochloracetic acid is used as reagent 1, gaseous ammonia is used as reagent 2. Methanol solution of monochloracetic acid and hexamethylenetetramine having molar ratio of components (5-9): 1 is heated to 55-70 C. Reagent 2 is passed through this solution within at least 0.5 h; recirculation of mother solution prepared after desired product isolation being used. Thus prepared glycine has melting point 233 C. EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method. 2 cl, 1 tbl
