FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: desired products are derivatives of 2-anilinepyrimidine having common formula I where R1 is H, halogen; R2 is H, halogen, methyl; R3 is alkyl (C1-C4) substituted by halogen, alkyl (C1-C4), cyclopropyl; R4 is cyclopropyl unsubstituted or substituted by halogen or by methyl, or derivatives of their acid-additive salts. Synthesis is carried out by interacting thiourea having formula II S=C(NH2)2 or salt of isothuyronia having formula III where A⊖ is acid anion, R5- C1-C8 being alkyl or unsubstituted or substituted by halogen and/or C1-C4-alkyl, benzyl with diketone having formula IV R3-C(O)CH2O(O)-R4. The process is carried out in inert solvent at 20-140 C in the presence of acid to produce compound having common formula V where Y is H or R5; C1-C8-alkyl or benzyl unsubstituted or substituted by halogen and/or by (C1-C4)-alkyl. Thus prepared compound as alkali or alkali-earth salt is condensed with compound having formula VI: Z-R5 where Z is halogen to produce pyrimidine derivative having formula V where y is . The latter product is oxidized with per acid (e. g. perbenzoic acid, per p-chlorbenzoic acid) or by hydrogen peroxide to prepare pyrimidine compound having formula VIII: . The latter is condensed with formalin having formula IX, the process is carried out at (-30)-(120) C in the presence of base. Thus prepared product X is hydrolyzed at 10-110 C in the presence of base or acid. The process takes place in water or in aqueous mixture of solvents. Desired product is isolated in free form or as acid-additive salt. EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method. 4 tbl
