FIELD: methods for opencast mining of diamond deposits presented by kimberlite pipes. SUBSTANCE: deposit sections of ores with different quality of ore are outlined. Rock on sections is loosened. Rocks on sections with low-grade ore are loosened with simultaneous formation of worked out spaces and withdrawal of loosened ore. Then, worked out space is filled with highly mineralized brines, and high-grade loosed ore mass is placed into brines, and kept there until it disintegrates and then, dried and withdrawn.
