FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: end profile of one of gears (or profiles of both gears) is described by a continuous curve (or straight line) located inside the tooth contour formed by mating profile and the tangent to the mating profile at the point on the gear centroide. The helical gear set may be made both with parallel and intersecting axes both with internal and external engagement. A gear-with-rack engagement is also possible. The teeth engagement occurs only at the point continuously located on a common generatrix of pitch surfaces. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 4 cl, 7 dwg
