FIELD: pulp-making process. SUBSTANCE: process for manufacturing chemical pulp includes cooking of broad-leaved wood stock in sulfite liquor and washing of the resulting pulp. Mixture of raw tower sulfite liquor containing 1.45-1.65 % by weight of Na2O and 4.2-4.0 % by weight of SO2 in total and aqueous solution of sodium carbonate, 90-110 g/l, is used as the cooking liquor at their volume ratio of 100: 3 to 100: 5, respectively. The cooking process is carried out in the liquor containing 1.75 to 2.25 % of combined SO2 and 1.65-2.10 % of Na2O and having pH of 2.5-4.0, with total SO2 of the cooking liquor being of 3.8-4.5 % . EFFECT: increased yield and improved quality of the end product. 1 cl, 1 tbl
