FIELD: mining. SUBSTANCE: roofing has body of box structures connected by upper plate 2 and guard members found on body sides. One of guard members is made in form of rigid L-shaped protective casing. Its upper flange is located on roofing upper plate and side plate is connected with rods of hydraulic cylinders. The latter are secured to inner side of roofing and located in guide tubes. Rigidly installed on roofing upper plate 2 on the side of extensible casing 5, which consists of side plate 6 and upper flange 7, are transverse strap 9 and longitudinal strap 10; attached from stop to straps are contact plates forming hollows opened from side. Upper flange 7 of extensible casing consists of separate plates interconnected by side plate. Plates of upper flange of protective casing are closed by contact plates and arranged for motion in direction of adjacent units in respective hollows opened from side between transverse straps. Rigidly attached to inner surface of roofing, on side of rigid side plate 4, is hydraulic cylinder 13 with rod 14 to which pusher 16 is connected by means of pin 15 with its one end. Middle part of pusher is located in guide tube 17 for longitudinal motion and attached to roofing on the side of extensible casing 5. Side plate of casing is connected to other end of pusher 16 .
