FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: after removal of outward pressure upper part of guard is moved with reference to lower part, ceiling is advanced to face. At the end of move guarding sides are moved forward and are strutted out against sides of adjacent sections. Then base is pulled forward. Upper part of guard is moved in opposite direction and section is strutted out. EFFECT: method is effective in stopes where powered supports are used. 2 cl, 2 dwg
