FIELD: radio measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: monitoring of electric fields is conducted by way of periodic action on instrument electrode of electrostatic field protected with immobile shielding electrode, by periodic exposure and shielding, by reading of signal from instrument electrode, by its amplification and registration. Novelty lies in measurement of difference of potentials between outer surface of shielding electrode and instrument electrode and in connection of source of direct current with emf having bigger value of measured field potential before moment of zero equality of specified difference of potentials to shielding electrode. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurements. 2 dwg
