FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method is based on registering the heat emitted by a live growing queen bee confined in a sealed queen cell. Method is realized by the use of a device comprising thermocouple junction whose output leads are connected to input terminals of galvanometer. Condition of queen bee is monitored by registering temperature difference of the surface of sealed cell and surrounding air after withdrawing said cell from the queen-rearing colony. If said difference drops to zero within 5-10 min, this is an evidence that the sealed cell contains perished prepupa or pupa of the queen bee. If on completion of monitoring interval the value of difference is other than zero, it means that the queen bee is alive. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
