FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: preliminarily-manufactured bar from reinforced polymeric material having the temperature of 20 C is placed under the load amounting to 10-50 % of destructive loading into the molding cavity through the hole in one of the parts of the preliminarily-shut mold. The other shape-forming part of the mold heats the bar to the temperature 20-25 C higher than the maximum yield the temperature. The rivet blank is then cooled to the temperature 20-40 C below the vitrification temperature of amorphous polymers or the temperature of crystallization of crystalline polymers, and the produced rivet is cut. EFFECT: higher quality of rivets and simpler process of their manufacturing. 5 dwg
