FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the continuous steel casting. During the steel discharge from the steel casting ladle into the intermediate ladle, measuring the steel weight in both ladles. With the steel weight in the steel casting ladle equal to 8–15 tons, the steel weight in the intermediate ladle is increased to the maximum value, then with the steel weight in the steel casting ladle equal to 2–3 tons, completely closing the slide gate for 7–10 seconds. Then opening the slide gate and setting the steel flow rate out of the steel casting ladle, preventing the intermediate ladle weight sudden drop. Steel production ending and beginning of the slag from the steel casting ladle release are determined by change in the steel outflow rate.
EFFECT: enabling the slag detection during the steel casting accuracy, due to which increasing the steel and casting blanks quality, the ferroalloys saving, and also increasing the intermediate ladle lining stability.
