SHEET STRUCTURAL MATERIAL AND METHOD OF ITS MANUFACTURING Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: sheet structural material is in the form of frame sheet material coated with plastic material. The frame sheet material is provided on its opposite sides the relief in the form of alternating, mutually-parallel continuous projections with holes and recesses in thickness and over surface area of the sheet. On one side the relief is oriented longitudinally, and on the other side - transversely. The holes of the projections are formed by intersections of the projections and recesses of the opposite sides of the sheet. The profile of the relief may be in the form of development of involute gear or in the form of cylindrical thread. The method of manufacturing the sheet structural material consists in forming in rolls on either side of the frame sheet of the relief, application to these sides of plastic material, cooling and rolling in unthreaded rolls. One of the alternatives of the method of forming the relief, the relief is formed to the preset height of projections and recesses first on one side and then on the other side. The other alternative of the method consists in preliminary forming of the relief simultaneously on the both sides of the frame sheet followed by the final molding of the relief first on one side of the frame sheet and then on the other side.
