FIELD: aircraft crew life preservers. SUBSTANCE: pilot's helmet has viewing panel 4 fixed on rigid part of the helmet and mounted axially on cam 2 by means of bracket 5 with lock pin 6 and intermediate member-retainer 8 pivotally coupled together and with cam 2. Locking handle 7 mounted on lock pin 6 of bracket 5 is provided with retaining projection and is used in locking as bracing member between bracket 5 and intermediate member-retainer 5 which locks lock pin 6 in the recess of cam 2. The hinge joint joining bracket 5 with intermediate member-retainer 8 is positioned above the axis of cam 2, thus allowing the effect of oncoming airflow to be used as additional force which tends to lock pin 6 in the recess of cam 2. EFFECT: improved performance characteristics through more reliable protection against oncoming airflow in case of ejection. 4 dwg
