FIELD: metal working. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating of billet, removal of scale from its surface, deformation of billet in reversible break-down stand, fire surface conditioning of workpiece with subsequent deformation. Depth of removal of metal in fire surface conditioning is determined depending on condition of billet surface, size of furnace scale, drawing in rolling, and requirements to finished rolled metal grade.
