FIELD: metallurgical processes. SUBSTANCE: in pig iron smelting, additionally used are rare-earth metals and strontium which are at least partially introduced into burden materials simultaneously with introduction of flux sinter and/or in its composition in amount of 0.001-0.7 wt.% of rare-earth metals and 0.01-1.0 wt.% of strontium; also at least partially they are introduced into burden material during charging of solid fuel, including coke and/or in its composition in amounts from 10 to 30% of strontium and from 75 to 90% of rare-earth metals of their total weight introduced into burden materials with flux sinter. The technical result consists in higher technological effectiveness of blast-furnace and other metallurgical processes, improved quality of pig iron, smelted steels and alloys and also articles made from them due to increased intensity and depth of desulfurization at stage of blast-furnace process by optimal use of properties of rare-earth metals and strontium, and reduced gas consumption.
