SEMISUBMERSIBLE BASE FOR SEA STRUCTURE Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: flat or volumetric passive-active damper 2 made in form of plate of circular vertical or horizontal cylinder is mounted in floating bases containing vertically oriented semisubmersed displacement columns 1 near free surface in area of active action of waves at a depth of 1.25 of the working amplitude of waves. This damper reduces self-disturbing action of waves on floating base. Form and geometric sizes of passive-active dampers for rated frequency and amplitude of wave are obtained from the conditions of minimization of total disturbing action of waves on the column and passive-active damper of forces of the static and hydrodynamic wave nature. Floating base also has device for minimization of disturbing action of waves at unrated swell which includes incoming wave parameter meter 3, unit 4 for processing these parameters and obtaining most probable length and amplitude, meter 5 for determination of submergence of semisubmersible base, electric power source 6, optimization unit 7, ballast tank 8 and automatic ballasting unit 9.
