FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: catalyst contains, mass % : Pt 0.129-0242, aluminium chloride having empirical formula AlCl3 5.5-5.8, aluminium oxide having empirical formula μm as fire-proof carrier - the rest. Platinum is displaced in surface layer of catalyst, its surface concentration is at least 1.5 times that in control area of catalyst. Depth of surface layer is 150 C4-C7, diameter of central area being 50% of volume diameter of catalyst's particle. Isomerization of 5 h-1-alkane hydrocarbons is carried out at pressure 1-100 atm, temperature 40-250 is preferable. Molar ratio of hydrogen and hydrocarbons is (0.01-5): 1. Molar ratio of hydrogen and hydrocarbons in isomerization product is 0.05-: 1. It's preferable to conduct process in liquid-phase regime and to purify origin products against sulfur- and oxygen-containing compounds. Chlorocarbon is added into origin material as promoter, its quantity being 30-300 ppm. EFFECT: improves isomerization process. 8 cl, 1 dwg
