FIELD: oxidation of ethylene into ethylene oxide. SUBSTANCE: porous carrier is impregnated by solution of silver salt of C7-C13 neoacid till mass content of silver on said carrier is 3-25 mass % , toluene, xylene and/or cumene being used as organic solvent. Impregnated carrier is separated of said solution and is heated within definite period to activate catalyst. Then impregnation by aqueous solution of cerium compound to concentration 922-2091 is carried out. Catalyst is then placed into container and is blown by nitrogen (blowing rate being 5-8 l/min) at pressure 0.49- 0.7 at to substitute whole of air being inside catalyst and container. Catalyst is heated to 500-700 C within 0.75 h simultaneously with blowing by nitrogen (blowing rate being 10-15 l/min) at pressure 0.14-0.28 at. Then catalyst is sustained at 500-700 C in stationary condition within 0.5-4 h simultaneously with blowing by air and then is cooled to room temperature. EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method. 4 tbl
