FIELD: machine tool manufacture. SUBSTANCE: chuck has ring-shaped disk 5 mounted rotatably in rolling-contact bearings 4 on body 1 and associated kinematically with jaw movement mechanism. Secured on ring-shaped disk 5 in radial direction are vanes 6 with tail portion of their profile facing working zone. In initial position jaws are moved apart. When chuck is engaged to rotate inertia of disk 5 and air resistance make ring 5 turn relative body 1. This movement is transmitted through teeth 7 and 8 to pins 3 and disk 12 with Archimedian spiral and as a result jaws are drawn together and part to be worked becomes clamped. In the corse of operation vanes 6 create air flow directed along part surface thus cooling it and conducting away evaporation from metal. EFFECT: enlarged operational capabilities of chuck. 4 dwg
