FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: self-centring three-cam chuck consists of body, helical wheels and racks with replaceable lay-on cams. Chuck is furnished with main disk to locate and secure chuck to lathe spindle, disk with spherical peripheral outer surface for body face with no cams to be located and fixed thereon, and base plate provided with moving ring on one face to cover main disk and mate spherical surface on opposite face in contact with spherical peripheral outer surface of disk with its center on body lengthwise axis. Note here that body, disk with spherical outer surface, MAIN disk and clamping flange are bolted together to allow angular shift and inclination of chuck lengthwise axis of 2°…3°. Note also that aforesaid moving ring is provided for radial shift of the chuck and its locking relative to spindle with radially fitted screws with nuts and lock screws with lock nuts.
