FIELD: optical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves machining surfaces of optical parts from glass and silicon metal, with pearlite having amorphous and crystal phases being used as abrasive at the stages of grinding and polishing. Pearlite having amorphous phase within the range of 40-60% by weight is used for grinding and pearlite having at least 60% by weight of amorphous phase is used for polishing.
