FIELD: modification of working surfaces used in treatment of friction surfaces of machine parts operating under conditions of abrasive wear. SUBSTANCE: method includes application onto part surface of two-layer protective coating which consists of shock-absorbing base and abrasive-containing working layer. In this case, shock-absorbing base is applied with thickness larger than or equal to medium diameter of abrasive mixture of working medium. Abrasive-containing working layer is applied to base with thickness equalling the medium diameter of suspension of working medium. Dispersion of grains of abrasive layer equals medium dispersion of working medium suspension, and volumetric ratio of binding agent and abrasive material is 1:2.
