FIELD: geophysical investigation. SUBSTANCE: method includes preliminary determination of attitude of oil-water contact by geophysical investigations. Then, formation is perforated 1-1.5 m above and below the contact. After testing, selective water-isolation composition based on organic-silicon compounds is injected to form barrier. Then, testing is repeated and test results provide the information for accurate determination of oil-water contact attitude. EFFECT: higher accuracy in determination.
