FIELD: purification of sewage. SUBSTANCE: sewage is oxidized by catalysis with the help of air oxygen. The process is carried out on coarse-grained charging in the presence of iron compounds, it is followed by aeration or by coagulation. Above mentioned charging is mixture of carbon-containing material and iron-containing alloy. Coke is used as carbon-containing material; iron shavings and/or iron saw dust or iron-manganese alloy are used as iron-containing material; ratio of carbon- and iron containing materials being 1: 1. Mixture of ferromanganese and iron shavings and/or iron saw dust may be also used as iron-containing material, its ratio to carbon-containing material being 1: 1: 1.
