FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: machine has carriages and frame bearing on the carriages. Mounted on the frame are nipping mechanism and hoist comprising frame bearing through wheels on rails, mechanism for lifting rail switch including a telescoping beam with spread drive, and rail gripping member mounted on one end of the beam for drive to change the height of elevation connected to grip by flexible link passed around pulley secured on the beam. Gripping member has carrying frame bearing on wheels, and rollers with flanges whose axes of rotation extend in the vertical planes. Rollers are positioned on guides between wheels for turning about horizontal axes extending in line with rails. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of tamping and nipping. 9 cl, 4 dwg
