FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: brake coupling has drive shaft 1 with crankshaft 2 pivotally connected to carriers 4. Carriers 4 are connected to shoes 5 located in the plane of drum 7 between cylindrical rim 8 and disk 9 connected to shaft 1. Disk 9 has through grooves 10 receiving carriers 4. Shafts 1 and 2 are pivotally connected to casing 14 rigidly affixed to housing 15 of the machine. Wedged grooves 16 of drum receive bodies 17 of rolling engageable with surfaces 18 of shoes 5 to form reversible overrunning clutch. Elements of the overrunning clutch can include pawls 19 urged by springs 21 to teeth 22 of shoes 5. Casing 14 accommodates stator 23 of electromagnet. Springs are positioned between ends of armature and stator 23. Engaging ends of drum 7 and armature can be provided with friction linings 33. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of braking. 4 cl, 4 dwg
