FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: joint has sealing member, and annular cavity positioned concentrically and having inlet to receive inert gas. The sealing member has the form of resilient rings of which one is positioned over the annular cavity, and the other thereunder. Pipe for feeding inert gas has means for measuring gas in the annular cavity. Resilient rings are fabricated from fibrous ceramic material and connected by intermediate bridge elements extending through the annular cavity. Lower resilient ring is mounted on a step provided in the drowned pipe. Upper and lower resilient rings are made of materials having different gas permeability. The resilient rings and intermediate bridge elements have the form of an integrated ring-shaped piece. EFFECT: improved reliability of connection. 6 cl, 2 dwg
