FIELD: instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: additional conductor is placed at specified distance r from cable being tested, value of r is chosen such that r≪λ, where l - wave-length of harmonic signal being tested and excited in circuit having additional conductor and screen of cable being tested. One measures voltage at matched load resistors connected to the ends of circuits. The first circuit has additional conductor and screen of cable being tested, the second one has cable conductor and screen of cable being tested. Conductor parameter is chosen such that g1·l>1, where γ1 - first circuit propagation constant, l - length of cable being tested. Cable screen communication resistance and conductance are determined by results of measurements. EFFECT: higher accuracy of determination. 1 dwg
