FIELD: gas and oil producing industry. SUBSTANCE: device is comprised of casing accommodating concentrically-installed self-sealing cup clamped between upper and lower bearings. Upper part of cup has circular end recess filled by 70-90% with balls of 2-5 mm diameter. Upper part of cup functions as drive coupling. During running-in and pulling-out operations the requisite sealing is ensured by cylindrical part of cup. During rotary drilling, when driving drill pipe is in drive coupling, tightness is ensured by upper part of cup made in the form of profiled section to the height of end recess.
