FIELD: medicine, particularly, ophthalmology; differential diagnosis of latent glaucoma and ocular hypertension. SUBSTANCE: new method prescribes raising intraocular pressure step by step under conditions of compression ophthalmohypertension and quantitatively evaluating such functional changes as presence of central scotomas, enlargement of blind spot, and narrowing of visual field. Further step is measurement of intraocular pressure at which occur above mentioned functional changes. If intraocular pressure is below 35 mm Hg, latent glaucoma is diagnosed and when it is above 35 mm Hg, ocular hypertension is diagnosed. EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnosis.
