FIELD: vacuum suction casting. SUBSTANCE: method involves filling metal into working cavity of mold lined with friable refractory filler, and vacuumizing it on upward stroke of plunger therein. Shape-forming function is ensured by plunger whose upward motion depressurizes lining sand. Vacuum acts through sand on melt, thus filling the mold. The method does not call for the use of vacuumized pattern auxiliaries lined with film and dispenses with the associated expenditures for auxiliaries and additional labor since sand in working cavity is sealed by plunger surface.
