FIELD: wood protection. SUBSTANCE: 5-32% solution of polymer products of tetraethoxy silane uncompleted acid hydrolysis in acetone or alcohol was tested for antifungi activity. The composition was applied on a mineral aggregate medium and left for 3-5 hours to remove the solvent. Pure fungi cultures were seeded. The incubation was carried out for 14 days at 24-27 C and 100% humidity. During the incubation period the fungi growth (or lack of growth) was visually macroscopic and microscopic appraised. The composition of the invention retards the growth of micro- and macromyceta at concentrations of 0.5- 2%; at concentrations above 5% the growth of fungi was not observed.
