FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of wood and wooden articles from biodeterioration and can be used in wood processing industry, construction and other fields to obtain materials with high antiseptic activity and fire safety. The wood antiseptic used is perfluorocarboxylic esters in form of their 15-20% solution in lower aliphatic alcohols.
EFFECT: besides good antiseptic properties when treating wood, the perfluorinated carboxylic acids also have good fire-protective properties.
