FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining and construction, particularly, to percussion mechanisms to be used for destruction of hard materials of natural and artificial origin. Proposed hammer comprises body with inlet and outlet channels and accommodating hammer dividing the body cavity into working and idle stroke chambers communicating intermittently via displacement channel permanently exposed on idle stroke chamber side and made in body wall, and working tool. Said displacement channel communicates intermittently said chambers of working and idle strokes at idle stroke chamber discharge channel shut off by the hammer side surface.
EFFECT: increased force pulse and hammer acceleration, decreased air consumption, higher impact frequency and power, reliable starting of the hammer.
