FIELD: agriculture and food industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves sizing the fruits and placing them in layers into containers, with spacers interposed vertically between layers. Fruits are loaded simultaneously between all the spacers, placing damping members between them. The filled containers are closed, turned through 90 deg so that layers of fruits and spacers take a horizontal position. The fruits being packed are delivered longitudinally with respect to spacers and the containers are periodically vibrated. Fruits are placed and sized concurrently. Containers are positioned end-to-end on an inclined surface with spacers arranged along the incline. Spacers in each following container are installed with growing distances between them.
