FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: chromium-base alloy contains (in % by mass): carbon 0.1-4.4; boron 13-25; sulfur 0.01-0.04; chromium - the balance. The alloy is produced in an ore-and-heat-treatment furnace by reduction of charge oxides of chromium and boron. The semi-product is crushed, washed-off with water or blown by air. A surfacing alloy was produced as a surfacing band. Nickel was used as sheathing, with to 5 mm thick coating applied by electric arc. On steel plates up to 20 mm coatings were applied.
