FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves melting and pouring steel into molds, heating ingots prior to rolling from 400-965 C to 1240-1310 C for 4.5-11.6 hrs, subsequent rolling to intermediate section by reducing it 14-23% at first passes followed by separate reduction of 13-23% and final rolling to required size for 8-14 passes with separate reduction by 3-14% of the total squeezing at the face of the ingot. Ingots are rolled to intermediate section by a total reduction of 69-71%, whereas the final rolling in the second pass is executed with full expansion.
