FIELD: methods of manufacturing scintillation detectors. SUBSTANCE: surface is polished and subsequently treated with aluminium oxide. Polishing is effected with the solution having a wetting liquid formed as orthosilicic ethyl ester containing 30 - 60 % ester the balance being abrasive. The wastes of polishing are withdrawn with the above-mentioned liquid. The scintillator has its surface treated with aluminium oxide through rubbing the latter in. EFFECT: the detector improves its scintillating characteristics.
