FIELD: automatics. SUBSTANCE: in device of linear precision movements drives are manufactured in the form of cylindrical multispiral springs produced from magnetostrictive material with different cross-sections mounted with butts on flange. Springs are inserted one into another and are coupled by free ends to shell installed between them. Locators in the form of collet clips made of nonferromagnetic material are attached to free butts of springs. Process of registration is accomplished when plate of ferromagnetic material is pulled to winding of electromagnet attached to body of clip. Drive distance pickups composed of sources of light with diaphragms and position-sensitive photodetectors are installed close to free ends of drives. Directrix passes along axis of motor. Pickup of object movement is attached to flange. Method of control over device consists in that movement is conducted under two modes- cyclical and tracking. Passing to tracking mode is carried out by signal generated with the aid of nonlinear element with characteristic of relay type having insensitivity zone by signal from pickup of object movement. Process of distancing of drives is performed in agreement with controlling signals by means of signals from drive distance pickups. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of movements. 2 cl, 2 dwg
