FIELD: nondestructive testing of weld seams; nondestructive testing of weld seams of nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: clamping and rotating unit is made in form of three-tab collet with elongated tabs which is connected with stepping rotation drive via shaft-spindle; it is also provided with taper bush which is mounted movably and concentrically relative to collet; this bush is connected with piston of pneumatic cylinder; centering unit is made in form of revolving bush with hole in form of tail-piece of heat-generating element; it is secured on immersion bath coaxially relative to clamping and rotating unit; control, monitoring and recording system is provided with diagnosis units which are connected with microprocessor of control system. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurement due to improved basing of article and quality of information processing. 1 dwg
