FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: the fixed volume of the test fuel is sampled and the content of actual resins in fuel is then determined. After sampling the fuel, it is applied onto a filter, the fuel impregnated filter is dried, and the filter with actual resins is then dissolved in an acetone-toluene mixture and the optical density of the solution is measured. The content of the resins is determined according to the formula: Ca.r = 32.91 ·D, wherein Ca.r is the concentration of actual resins in fuel, mg per 100 cm3 of fuel. 32.91 is the empirical coefficient; D is the optical density value.
