METHOD OF DETERMINATION OF ACTUAL RESINS CONTENT IN GASOLINES Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: gasoline sample is applied on chromatography paper, paper impregnated with gasoline is dried, washed with n-heptane and dried again. Then small-cut chromatography paper with resins is placed in acetone-toluene mixture, solution is shaken, and optical density of solution is measured. Resin content is calculated by formula: C_a.c.v. = K= D, where C_a.c.v. - concentration of actual resins in gasoline (mg/100 cm³); K - empirical coefficient; D - value of optical density.
