FIELD: environment control. SUBSTANCE: terrain pattern is obtained by space photography in infrared spectrum range of 0.8-0.9 micron. Coordinates of obtained pattern points are determined. Brightness of terrain pattern areas is measured and measurement results are processed; in the process, pattern areas are sampled according to brightness level, pattern areas of different optical contrast are arbitrarily colored to identify them, and terrain pattern areas whose identifying color is in contrast to those of surrounding pattern areas are discriminated. EFFECT: improved reliability of polluted area identification.
