FIELD: electrical equipment of transport facilities. SUBSTANCE: method involves acting on dirt particles stuck to the glass, measuring the checked parameter, comparing it with the preset parameter and, in case of a negative result of comparison, shaping a signal to end the cleaning process. The controlled parameter is concentration of dirt particles in washing fluid flowing down from the glass. For this purpose, the device for realization of the above method comprises a source for acting on the dirt particles, constituted by a wiper blade and a fluid sprayer. The receiver is made as a part of a drain pipe connected to the wiper while the checked parameter is converted into an electric signal by a converter installed at the outlet of the drain tube and having the form of transparent ports secured in the walls of the drain pipe, and pollution transmitter comprised of radiation source and photocell installed on either side of the drain pipe along the optical axis of transparent ports.
