FIELD: coal mining. SUBSTANCE: cutter has holder, working head, main and additional hard-alloy inserts. Front end of working head has main hard-alloy prismatic insert with front wedge-shaped surface and rounded main cutting edge. Additional hard-alloy insert for subsequent loosening of rock mass is of prismatic shape and wedge-shaped front and rear surfaces. Working head rear face has socket to receive additional hard-alloy insert. Main cutting edge of additional insert is located in working section of plane of main hard-alloy insert and displaced upward relative to main cutting edge of main hard-alloy insert.
