FIELD: underground construction. SUBSTANCE: support placer has guides 1. Arranged along guides 1 and connected with them are supporting rope blocks 3, and flexible member laid over blocks and secured to winch 10 installed in guides. Placer has truck 4 with leverage gripping mechanisms 24 and counterweight 5 connected with truck and capable of motion in guides 1 to both sides. Guides 1 are made in form of closed rings. Counterweight 5 displaced relative to truck 4 through 180 deg. Leverage gripping mechanism 24 is installed on truck 4 on guides 26 for transverse motion on truck 4. Flexible member is made in form of two branches 12 and 13 overlapping each other and connected with their free ends to truck 4. Required tension of nonloaded branches of flexible member is maintained by compensating devices. Truck 4 is made with two pairs of wheels, one of which has balance suspension. EFFECT: higher accuracy of installation of support members in workings of large cross-section by controlled displacement of support members. 4 cl, 4 dwg
