FIELD: cranes, especially gantry cranes. SUBSTANCE: a load-hoisting device has two rope drums 1 and 2. Drums are connected with drive and are interconnected with each other by synchronous kinematic link 3, for example, in the form of gears 4 and 5. Installed between drums 1 and 2 is a rope guider provided with carriage 18 which can be moved along guide rod 19 by means of feed mechanism 20. Ends 7 and 8 of rope 6 are anchored to ends of working portions of drums 1 and 2. Falls 9 and 7 are directed to snatch pulley 10 and fall 11 of end 8 wound on 2 is accordingly directed to disk 12. Disks 10 and 12 are disposed between drums 1 and 2 in the plane tangent to elements of drums 1 and 2 and pass through falls 9 and 11 which are preferably coaxial with each other. When fall 6 is loaded the forces acing on pulley block 17 cause torsion moments on drums 1 and 2 and falls 6 and 9, 11, 14, 15 are uniformly tensioned. When the drive is switched on drums 1 and 2 start to rotate synchronously and to wind or unwind falls 9 and 11, 6. Movement of rope guider carriage 18 together with rigidly secured disks 10 and 12 along guide rod 19 and, accordingly, in the direction of falls 14 and 15 provide the laying of falls 9 and 11 on drums 1 and 2 with a preset pitch. With the rope guider carriage in any position the rope falls remain in coaxial relation with each other and thus they counterbalance each other on the path of movement of the rope guider carriage, and relieve the carriage from the load imposed by taut ropes.
