FIELD: preparation of liquid glass. SUBSTANCE: an aqueous silicon gel suspension containing ammonium impurities is prepared to obtain a solid-to-liquid phase ratio of 1:(1-2.5), treated with alkali and heated to the boiling point with a vapor-air mixture at an air flow rate of 0,5-2,5 m3/min of the reaction mixture and kept for 15-20 min. After cooling, the slime is separated. The liquid glass comprises (wt %): 10.4-10.9 Na2O; 28.0-30.2 SiO2; 0.05-0.1 NH3. EFFECT: improved properties of the liquid glass.
