FIELD: manufacture of castings of white iron. SUBSTANCE: the process comprises pouring liquid iron metallic molds at 1220-1200 C, the ratio of the components being as follows (wt %): 2.8-3.8 carbon; 0.5-1.3 silicon; 1.2-2.5 manganese; maximum 0.12 sulfur; maximum 0.15 phosphorus; and iron, the balance. The use of this process provides manufacture of castings having an improved hardness of HB-537-HB 558 and wear resistance uniformly all over the portions thereof and at low cast thereof. EFFECT: improved properties of the castings.
